Jon Lawrence
Jon has two decades of experience in the software and Internet-services industries, covering project management, client-facing, product and business development roles in Australia, the United Kingdom, Denmark and the United States. Jon’s interests include freedom of speech, privacy, copyright reform, and resisting unnecessary mass surveillance. He has been an informed observer of global internet governance issues since 1999 and has a long-standing commitment to bridging the digital divide and to protecting the Internet’s open and interoperable nature.
Jon is currently employed as Electronic Frontiers Australia’s Executive Officer. He has been a non-Executive Director of the Internet Society of Australian since 2012 and is the current Chair of the Committee of Management for North Melbourne Language and Learning, a community-based provider of literacy, English language and life skills training. Jon completed a Master of International Relations at the University of Melbourne in 2011.
